Miguel Platero (Madrid, 1973) is an architect and painter whose work is a continuous exploration of the multiple relationships established between form and color. Through discarded supports (tables, cardboard, doors, papers) rewrite with a narrative new historical genres such as landscape or portrait. Very influenced by the classic pictorial avant-­garde and abstract Expressionism, his work fits into contemporary times with a proposal of color structures that runs between the figurative and the abstraction.

After graduating in (1999) at the Higher Technical School of Architecture in Madrid, he attended the Faculty of Fine Arts of the Spanish capital. Since then, he performs both trades. As an architect he has worked in some of the most prestigious spaces in Spain. In 2007 he opened his own office in the Polish city of Warsaw, where he also has his artistic workshop.

Over more than two decades of work he has regularly exhibited both in Spain and abroad. In 2018, the Madrid gallery MovART shows a wide selection of his painting. Before, during 2017, the Dom Kultury Kolorowa of Warsaw collects some of its, then, we work more recently and in 2016 it takes its work to the Kotlownia gallery (Poland). Geographical environments have a great weight in their eyes. Traveling artist, he travels Poland, Spain, Italy, Romania, Egypt, Serbia and France where he finds images that he turns to his work. Among the collective exhibitions, its presence in the Art Marbella and Estampa fairs (2019), in the Spring Salon of Painting and Graphic Arts in Warsaw (2016) or in Gallery 33, in the Polish city of Ostrów Wielkopolski. His painting is part of public and private collections and has been selected in several national competitions (XII Spring Hall of Valdepeñas, IV Hall of Abstract Art or ‘Night’ Contest of Toledo) and international (Alternatives 33, Poland).
